Okay I'm just going to come right out and say it, granny squares look pretty yes but what a pain in the but to make. I had grand plans (again) of doing a granny rug but it quickly changed in to a pillow after it took longer to sew in all the threads than crochet the squares. I think in future the two tone version will be just dandy. My hat is off to the grannies and granny makers.

I totally applaud you change of plans, and that you've even managed to make a pillow. WHich is gorgeous by the way. But me well never managed even that far, just do grannies which sit there unused.

They look wonderful. Unfortunately I'm another that has lots of grannies around but not the patience to put them all together *sigh* If only I had have inherited my mother's patience for granny blankets!

Kelley you crazy kid, i had similar ideas of making shopping bags but crocheted... those plans are still on the cutting room floor. one day maybe.
Oh granny rugs, I haven't seen one of those for ages! They evoke so many memories, mostly of playing with my doll in her cot with a granny rug that my nanna made (never made it big enough for me - now I know why - so it always remained a dolly's blanket).
