I taught myself just over a year ago how to crochet and this week I'm thankful for crochet.
I whipped up 3 baby cardigans this week and after they were done I found out 3 of my friends are pregnant... 2 of which had given up on even entertaining the thought of getting pregnant!
I'm also grateful for new beginnings... my daughters room has been uninhabitable since cyclone Yasi dumped her stuff a few weeks ago. She's bunking in with her twin brother, something they haven't done for over 5 years. It's been good for them. We now get to create a tween room for her.
I'm also grateful for quick sewing projects and the ability to make gifts rather than buying them.
See what other sweet peeps are grateful for this week at Maxabella Loves.
the baby cardies and dresses are adorable!! I'm thankful for crochet as well, it's been my sanity saver!
ReplyDeleteFor sure Casey, crochet is the one thing i can do without really having to think about it which makes it perfect for when life gets a little stessful. x
ReplyDeleteI am also grateful for the ability to create with crochet - my grandmother taught me when I was quite young, and it's something that I have always been able to come back to as a creative outlet. I am currently creating beautiful children's ponchos ready for the winter season, and just loving the results! I can't believe you've only been crocheting for a year! That's so inspirational.
ReplyDeleteA handmade gift it something to treasure. You are very lucky indeed to be able to spread such joy.
Your daughter will be so happy in her new room. From mess, grows hope. x
The things you make look beautiful. I've been into crocheting, too, lately, but I've been making toys. They are quick and my kids actually find it interesting what will come out, so they let me crochet while they play.
ReplyDeleteSuch cute cardies, and what great timing too! I love handmade gifts, they're the best.
ReplyDeleteThe cardigans look great. I have just mastered the granny square:) have fun redecorating for miss 12
ReplyDelete....but you know I only have boys! :) Melissa

ReplyDeleteHi! New follower/blogger here, I just L.O.V.E those baby cardigans! Well done you! I learnt to crochet when I was a child, but I have never made clothing!!! It is on my 2011 list of things to learn. I would love to make little cardies like this for my own 7 year old Ruby! Looking forward to reading more x

ReplyDeleteThought you might be interested in this link. Its the blanket that Grandma liked to make for the babies. I love making them too, nearly finished another one, yay! I can't read patterns, I need to be shown how to do it, so I hope you can decipher all the lingo. If not, maybe I can show you next time we see each other? Anyway, just thought you would like it.
